A children’s folk song from South-East Lithuania. Baltic folk songs are melancholic more often than not, however, foreigners find it surprising that Lithuanian children’s songs very often contain gore elements too: animals dying or being mistreated. The purpose of such songs was to prepare children for the life which in the past often contained many hardships.
