C-C REACTS TO LILA IKE BATTY RIDER SHORTS ( 2021 RAP MUSIC)
Lila’s commercial breakthrough largely coincides with the beginning of her collaboration with Protoje Jamila Pinto, a mutual friend and project manager for Protoje’s In.Digg Nation collective, facilitated the link that would eventually bring Lila into the circle. The first track to emerge from the new partnership was her feature on „Flight Plans,” for Protoje’s 2016 EP, Royalty Free. In 2017, Lila followed this album appearance with her first single, Biggest Fan, which pays tribute to her mother and her upbringing. She followed this release later that year with „Gotti Gotti,” a darker, rhythmic track centered on the trappings of greed and excess. In 2018, she released „Second Chance”, along with a music video directed by NickiiKane. 2018 also marked her first performance at Uppsala Reggae Festival – the largest showing of the genre in Scandinavia. In 2019, she released her latest single, „Where I’m Coming From” along with a music video shortly thereafter. 2019 also marked her first performances at Reggae Sum fest in Montego Bay, Jamaica and Rototom Reggae Festival, in Spain.
