Advance Australia Fair is the national anthem of Australia. Created by Scottish-born Australian composer Peter Dodds McCormick, and first played in 1878 and sung as a patriotic song. The song replaced „God Save the Queen” as the national anthem in 1984, after a poll was conducted to select the national anthem in 1977.
Australia’s national anthem, „Advance Australia Fair”, in an instrumental brass band performance performed by the United States Navy Band.
Lyrics:
Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are one and free;
We’ve golden soil and wealth for toil;
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in nature’s gifts
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history’s page, let every stage
Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.
